Die FitFlop-Story: Eine Frau machte dem Erfolg Beine

FitFlop-Initiatorin Marcia Kilgore ist eine erfolgreiche Unternehmerin in der Fitness-Branche. Zum Beispiel hat sie das Trend setzende Bliss Spa in New York eröffnet und eine eigene, gut gehende Kosmetiklinie kreiert. Also eine viel beschäftigte Frau, die im Übrigen ein Faible für stylische Flip-Flops besitzt.

Wie viele Frauen fragte sich Marcia Kilgore immer wieder, wie sie ihr Fitness- Training in den immer hektischer werdenden Alltag integrieren könnte. Sie begann, nach einer smarten, weil unaufwändigen und alltagstauglichen Methode zu forschen, natürlich nicht allein. Ende 2005 setzte sich Marcia Kilgore zusammen mit einer Handvoll Experten der Londoner Universitäten. In der Runde saßen Orthopäden, Chiropraktiker, ein Experte für Biomechanik, ein Fachmann für Fußreflexzonenmassage und ein Schuh-Hersteller. Aus der Runde entwickelte sich eine engagierte Projektgruppe. Die Ansprüche waren sehr hoch. Die Innovation sollte nicht nur ergonomisch State of the Art sein. Der Schuh sollte muskelstimulierend, komfortabel und auch noch trendy sein. Ein ganzes Jahr lang arbeitete man an der Entwicklung des außergewöhnlichen Schuhs – dann endlich war der FitFlop geboren.
